All I can say is it felt good to be on the bike this morning. The weather was just about perfect, 62 with just a slight breeze out of the south. It's official, my entire ride in the morning is in the dark. A year ago, I would have wimped out by now. But with my current lighting set-up, I should be able to commute for 90% of the rest of the year. We'll see how I fair once the weather turns.
Now I'm going to go back to Wednesday's afternoon ride home. After crossing under Antioch, I was pleasantly supervised to find new black top all the way to where the bike trail turns north through the apartment complexes. My only comment is why stop there. There are other part of the trail that were in much worse shape. Anyway, I also got to do some off roading after crossing under Metcalf. I have been seeing trees being removed, and lots of markings on the grass/trail, and Wednesday the work had begun on the trail. A short section has been removed and it looks promising that a new trail surface is in the works. This morning, I found that more of the trail has been removed. My only hope is that they complete this trail repair soon.
Again, turning back to tore up trails, I can see progress being made on the section around Mission road, but I'm starting to wonder if the work will be done to that section of trail before winter hits.
Anyway, those are my ramblings for today.
