Can you see me now.

Over the weekend I stopped by the bike shop to see if they could get a replacement lens cover for my old Serfas blinky. After a brief discussion, finding that it would be easy to contact Serfas directly, I started to browse their selection of lights.

Earlier this month, I purchase a Romisen RC - N3 CREE Q5 LED light for my morning commute. I love this light, I may be getting a second once I need light for both the morning and evening commute. I had also replace the aformentioned Serfas with a Cateye TL-LD170 early in July. This was not a bad light, it just did not get the attention of motorist as well as I would have liked. So while looking at the blinkies on displayed, I finally got to experience the Planet bike super flash. Hands down the best self contained blinky available currently. Well, needless to say, I walked out of the store the proud owner of a superflash.

I was much more confident this morning that I would not be ran over on Wornall, and College blvd.

I also made a couple of other configuration changes over the weekend. I found that my seat had slipped down some, just enough to cause minor discomfort around 20 mile into a ride. Since I seldom go farther than 10 miles at one time, I didn't think much about it. After raising the seat, I found that I was MUCH more comfortable this morning.

The other mod I made was to swap out the broken clipless pedal, for platforms with toe clips. I was hoping to extend the sandle riding season by using wool socks, but when I crashed Wednesday, my control of when to change pedals was made for me. Do I miss my clipless pedals, yes. Will I stop riding, NO. There is a different feeling of riding with toe clips, but something that I will get use to.

We will have to see how the evening commute goes, as it sounds like temps should be dropping during the afternoon. Is fall here? Only time will tell.

Ride safe, ride strong.
