Now I should know better, rain + commuting = dirty, loud, squeaky chain. Monday I was reminded that keeping a well lubed chain is a must. Having left for work in a slight drizzle, I did not think about lubing the chain, the ride from work was a totally different matter. I fought my way back to the truck, as the bike had time to dry (and chain rust) during the work day. When I got home, I looked at the chain that was originally a bright and shinny silver color, was now a brown/gray grimy disgusting color. This is something that amazes me, how rain can instantly change the color (and texture) of a metal object. But then again, simple minds - simple pleasures.
On another subject, I did get to try out the new light. That sucker is bright, had a car flash their lights at me when on Red Bridge Road. When I got to the trail, what a difference. More than likely the best $30 spent on bike stuff this year. I am even thinking of ordering a second for just a touch more light. Only time will tell, I think at an additional blinkie is in order first.
Catch ya later
