Nothing special

As the title depicts, the ride this morning was nothing special. Overall, I enjoyed the ride. Left the truck just a bit later than I would have liked, but that's what happens when you roll back in bed when the alarm goes off.

One observation that I have made is that it's dark on the Indian creek trail. There are sections of the trail that are lined with trees. This pretty much takes out all ambient light from the moon, and or street lights if you are close enough to the street.

The ride home was awesome. Fair number of people on the trail, of course this means that I had to be extra attentive. It also means I have to be patient, which anyone who knows me will say I am not. Guess this is just something I will have to work on more. Yeah, OK.

Something that I have also noted, as was noted in CommuterDude's blog, weather's a changing. I am starting to notice that leaves are changing. Lots of leave are falling on the trail. AND THE DAMNED SQUIRRELS DROPPING THEIR NUTS ON THE GROUND. OK, I get a little heated with the little critters. Don't let their cute appearance fool you. They are vindictive little buggers. I sometimes swear they are trying to hit me, dropping walnuts, apples, sticks from their trees as I ride by. As if getting beanned by them was not enough, they don't even have the curtiousy to clean up after them selves. Riding through their carnage can be quite dangerous. Hit a fallen walnut wrong could result in the unexpected brawl with the ground. (and we know who wins that fight). With all this said, here are my points: summers gone, fall is here and with it we have all of the sights and sound that we enjoy, but also have to deal with the carnage of the critter preparing for the next season.

Ride safely, pedal hard, AND Watch out for the "nuts".
